The bending jaw (30) for sheet (10) comprises a support jaw and a carrier jaw for the bending tool (34). The support jaw extends over the entire bending jaw length. The tool carrier jaw is permanently-supported by two bearings on the support jaw. The support bearings have smaller mutual spacing than the end faces of the tool carrier jaw. When the tool carrier jaw is unloaded, in its normal position, it runs parallel to the support jaw without additional support, across the width direction. In end regions of the tool carrier jaw, on reaching a state of given flexure under loading, support is provided by flexure-limiting components. The tool carrier jaw has a central region running parallel without support between the support bearings. Further detailed mechanical provisions concerning support, parallelism and flexure of the machine components are elaborated. |
