A method for relaying communication through sharing a frequency channel and an apparatus therefor are provided to enable a relay device to communicate between peripheral devices by sharing other relay device and a frequency channel. A transmitter(910) transmits a channel sharing request to plural relay devices(940), and a receiver(920) receives a channel sharing response from the plural relay devices. The channel sharing response includes at least one of information about the number of super frames and channel sharing time information. A relay unit(930) shares one frequency channel among the frequency channels for plural relay devices based on the channel sharing response to relay the communication between peripheral devices.
