A sensor network communication method and an apparatus thereof are provided to enable IP communication even when an IP is not prepared in some sensor node. An external node(130) transmits a message to a sensor node by obtaining IP(Internet Protocol) address based on a domain name of sensor nodes(124a,124d). A router(122) determines whether or not the sensor node uses an IP. When the sensor node does not use an IP, the router converts the message. The router converts the IP address of an external node included in the message into an ID of the router. In addition, the router converts the IP address of the sensor node into the ID of the sensor node.
