An apparatus for photographing a digital image, a method of controlling exposure, a method of photographing a digital image, and a computer readable recording medium storing a program for the method are provided to set a control exposure time value properly smaller than an auto exposure time value, thereby obtaining an image with reduce hand shaking. When a calculated auto exposure time value is smaller than the first exposure time value, a control exposure time value is set as the auto exposure time value(S30,S31). When the auto exposure time value is larger than or the same as the first exposure time value and the auto exposure time value is smaller than or the same as the second exposure time value, the control exposure time value is set as the first exposure time value(S40,S41). When the auto exposure time value is larger than the second exposure time value, the control exposure time value is determined in proportion to the auto exposure time in a method of reducing a predetermined step from the auto exposure time value(S50). Sensitivity increases corresponding to an exposure time value difference between the auto exposure time value and the control exposure time value.
