<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an image recognition apparatus of an electronic component mounting machine to have both a wide field of view and a high resolution without using a zoom mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: When taking an image of a small component with high precision, a high-resolution imaging mode is used to decrease an imaging distance within a depth of field and increase a resolution of a camera. When taking an entire image of a large component within a field of view, a view expansion imaging mode is used to increase the imaging distance within the depth of field and expand the field of view of the camera. In this way, it is possible to switch between the high-resolution imaging mode and the view expansion imaging mode according to a required resolution and a required field of view, thereby allowing both imaging with a high resolution and imaging with a wide field of view without using a zoom mechanism. This method allows both a wide field of view and a high resolution while satisfying requirements for lower costs and higher durability. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
