PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a spindle motor that does not depend on the machining accuracy of its parts and whose runout is small. SOLUTION: The fit portion between a sleeve 1 rotatably supported about a shaft 3 fixed on a stator 5 and a rotor frame 2 is obtained by clearance fit. Drops of ultraviolet curing resin 4 of the same weight are circumferentially intermittently applied to the circumferential surface of the sleeve 1 in positions point-symmetric with respect to the center of the sleeve 1. As a result, a spindle motor in which the influence of curing and shrinkage of the ultraviolet curing resin is canceled out and runout is small is obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
