PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the labor of an operator, and to improve the accuracy of ship position holding control. SOLUTION: An automatic ship position holding device 10 comprises a control constant deciding portion 11 calculating a control constant on the basis of the physical quantity of a hull changing according to hydrographic conditions, and a computing processing portion 12 carrying out the ship position holding control fixing a position and an orientation of the hull by using the control constant decided by the control constant deciding portion 11, and a present position and a present orientation of the hull.
