PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved structure of a self-traveling type car-washing machine capable of enhancing the car-washing finish, and performing the travel smoothly along an outer peripheral surface of a car body. SOLUTION: The self-traveling type car-washing machine comprises a steering means for changing the traveling direction of a frame 11 with a car-washing brush 16 being rotatably supported thereby while a wheel 14 is fitted thereto, and a distance detection means for detecting the distance between the frame 11 and an outer peripheral surface 57 of a vehicle body to be washed, and further comprises a self-traveling direction control means for steering the frame in the direction parallel to the outer peripheral surface of the vehicle body by allowing the frame 11 to travel in the opposite direction when the detected value by the distance detection means is deviated from the preset permissible range.
