An external combustion engine operated by sublimation of the dry ice and a method thereof are provided to prevent the damage of the configuring device, such as piston inside the cylinder, crank arm, connecting rod and other rubber packing because the temperature of the gas of the dry ice is not high. An external combustion engine operated by sublimation of the dry ice comprises a cylinder(10), a piston(20), a connecting rod, a crank arm(60), a crank shaft(70), a pressure tank(100), and an inlet unit(30). The piston is comprised inside the cylinder and takes the external steam in and out. The piston inside the cylinder moves up and down between the top dead center and bottom dead center with the steam. The connecting rod, crank arm, and crank shaft are comprised in the lower part of the piston so the reciprocation of the piston is converted into the rotation. The pressure tank is connected to the cylinder through the inlet unit. The pressure of the gas subliming dry ice(110) generated inside the pressure tank reciprocates the piston. |
