PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method for manufacturing a cylindrical resin shaft, with which desired product quality such as machinability, stability of an inner diameter dimension and rigidity can be stably and surely obtained. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the cylindrical resin shaft for obtaining the cylindrical resin shaft by mixing a thermoplastic resin, a heat foaming agent and a reinforcing material, heating an obtained mixture at a prescribed temperature and foaming the heat foaming agent, by turning the reinforcing material to an inorganic material only, even when the mixture of the thermoplastic resin, the heat foaming agent and the reinforcing material is heated at the prescribed temperature so as to foam the heat foaming agent, a combustion gas (Co<SB>2</SB>) is not produced from the reinforcing material, and the heat foaming agent is foamed by a desired foaming magnification.
