<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar substrate type patch-clamp device technology which can easily downsize a device and allows simple use, and moreover enables high sensitive and accurate measurement. <P>SOLUTION: The substrate for the patch-clamp device is an electric insulating substrate in which an aperture on one side in a through-hole connecting both surface sides of the substrate has a bore diameter smaller than that of a cell and an extracellular matrix formative substance is provided on the circumference of the aperture.
