PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material having good discharge characteristics such as discharge efficiency and discharge delay, chemically stable and power saving in PDP. SOLUTION: A conductive mayenite type compound wherein a part of a free oxygen ion of a mayenite type compound wherein a part of Al is substituted with M (M is Ga or In) is substituted with an electron, and having an electron density of≥1×10<SP>15</SP>cm<SP>-3</SP>, having a high oxidation resistance and chemically stable is provided. The compound is represented by Ca<SB>12</SB>(Al<SB>1-x</SB>M<SB>x</SB>)<SB>14</SB>O<SB>33</SB>and x is preferably≥0.001 and≤0.05. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
