PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a maintenance work even when the number of software components to be stored in a database (DB) significantly increases, in an automatic configuration device for automatically generating a new program by combining required software components in a software component DB. SOLUTION: An automatic program configuration device includes: a means for extracting software components from the DB 150 storing a plurality of software components, appending a note to indicate the location of the respective software components extracted from the DB to the software components in the file when the extracted software components are combined to generate the files, and specifying the respective software components combined by reading the notes and the locations of the respective software components in the DB; a means for specifying a software component stored in the DB to be compared with the software components combined in the file based on the locations; a means for comparing the software component combined in the file with the software component to be compared so as to specify the software component different in content; and a means for replacing the specified software component with the software component combined in the file.
