FIELD: physics; communication. ^ SUBSTANCE: method is invented for transmitting several data streams between a transmitting device with several transmission antennae and a receiving device. For this purpose, the method involves determination of the set of power weightings, effective quantisation of power weightings and provision of the transmitting device with a set of power weightings. The other aspect of the invention involves implicit signalling by the transmitter of the number of data streams, for which the receiver must return information on the requested amount of feedback.
