<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for a rubbing treatment, with which a high-quality optical compensation film required for higher luminance and higher definition of a liquid crystal display can be manufactured, by efficiently removing dust generated in a rubbing treatment, and the lifetime for rubbing sheet can be extended and the productivity is improved. <P>SOLUTION: The rubbing treatment device 10 forms an alignment layer, while moving a long transparent film 12 in the longitudinal direction, by bringing a rubbing roller 16 in a rotating state into contact with the surface of a layer comprising an alignment layer forming material on the transparent film 12. A first destaticizing device 18 is provided on the downstream side of the contact position between the rubbing roller 16 and the transparent film 12, with respect to the rotating direction of the rubbing roller 16, the destaticizing device, irradiating the surface of the rubbing roller 16 with ions that neutralize charges generated on the surface to destaticize. Dust-removing devices 20 to 22 removing dust from the surface of the rubbing roller 16 are provided on the downstream side of the first destaticizing device 16, with respect to the rotating direction of the rubbing roller 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
