<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which, in order to communicate an IPv4 compatible application on a conventional PC/WS with a host connected to an IPv6 network, an address translation router is required and when using the address translation router, a load applied to the address translation router increases. <P>SOLUTION: In a LAN control device connected to an IPv6 network, an IPv4/IPv6 protocol conversion control function is included in a LAN driver. When IPv4 packet data are delivered from a protocol control unit and a transmission destination IPv4 address within a header is registered on an address translation table within a protocol conversion control unit, the protocol conversion control unit converts the IPv4 address into a corresponding IPv6 address, creates an IPv6 header and transmits it onto a LAN as an IPv6 packet. By using such a control means, a conventional IPv4 compatible AP can be operated on the IPv6 network. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
