EDGE LIGHT TYPE ILLUMINATION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an edge light type illumination device which can irradiate the light of a light source introduced into a light guide material efficiently to the front as light having no directionality with high diffusion performance. SOLUTION: The illumination device has a light guide material 2 into which light from a light source 3 is introduced therein from the side end face. A diffusion transmission part 7 which diffuses partially light from the light source 3 in the light guide material 2 is installed on the rear face of the light guide material 2. A reflection part 8 which reflects transmission light from the diffusion transmission part 7 to the front of the light guide material 2 is installed in the diffusion transmission part 7.
