PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a set of a primer and a probe capable of measuring various kinds of HCVs having different genotypes and quantitatively obtaining large amount of an amplification product even by a specimen having extremely low virus concentration, a kit for detecting a hepatitis C virus RNA by a real-time detection PCR, and a method for detecting a hepatitis C virus RNA by a real-time detection PCR. SOLUTION: The set of a primer and a probe includes a set of a forward-side primer composed of an oligonucleotide having a base number of 14-22 and having a homology of≥90% with a specific base sequence, a reverse-side primer composed of an oligonucleotide having a base number of 14-22 and having a homology of≥90% with a specific base sequence, and a fluorescent probe composed of an oligonucleotide having a base number of 16-27, having a homology of≥90% with a specific base sequence and bonded with a donor fluorescent dye and an acceptor fluorescent dye.
