PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing plate superior in solvent resistance and a polymer suitable for producing the printing plate. SOLUTION: The polymer, in which polycarbonate diol having a number average molecular weight of 300-50,000 and composed of a repeating unit represented by formula (1) (wherein R1is a 3-50C leaner chain or branched hydrocarbon group containing at least one atom selected from a group consisting of a nitrogen, sulfur, and oxygen atom on a main chain and/or a side chain) is polymerized via a urethane bond is disclosed.
