MAXIMUM CAPACITY CALCULATION METHOD CONSIDERING TRAFFIC SHORT-TERM VARIATION FACTOR, AND APPARATUS THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the maximum capacity of a traffic amount without putting a large load on the observation of the traffic amount flowing through a communication network and without utilizing the utilization rate of respective lines.

SOLUTION: The average value of the traffic amount observed in the communication network 1 in a certain period is gathered, and the gathered average value of the traffic amount and the preset upper limit value of the traffic amount of an individual communication line accommodated in the communication network 1 are utilized to calculate the maximum variance value of the traffic amount in the communication network 1 generatable in the period. Then, on the basis of the maximum variance value and a significant level given beforehand, the maximum short-term variation traffic amount is statistically estimated.
