PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor for easily fixing a gear accommodation portion and a cover member for closing an opening formed in the gear accommodation portion. SOLUTION: Coupling portions between a wheel accommodation portion 13 and a control circuit accommodation portion 14 constituting a gear accommodation portion are provided on the both sides of a locking piece 27 constituting a portion for fixing a cover plate 22 and the wheel accommodation portion 13 and a latch 24. Holes 40 are formed on the periphery of the locking piece 27 and the latch 24 in order to insert tools 41 and 42 for fixing the cover plate 22 and the wheel accommodation portion 13. By means of the fixing tools 41 and 42 inserted into the tool insertion holes 40, the locking piece 27 formed on the cover plate 22 is caulked to the latch 24 formed in the wheel accommodation portion 13, and the opening 13c of the wheel accommodation portion 13 is closed by means of the cover plate 22.
