PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet-like member thickness detection device, capable of detecting thickness of a sheet-like member at high accuracy while reducing the cost, and to provide an image forming device with the sheet-like member detection device. SOLUTION: This sheet-like member thickness detection device comprises: a pair of rollers 122 comprising a first roller member 123 and a second roller member 124; drive means 127 for rotary driving at least one of the first roller member 123 and the second roller member 124; rotation angle speed detection means 125 for detecting an angle speed of at least one of the first roller member 123 and the second roller member 124; a storage means 139 for storing correlation information between the angle speed, at a timing when the sheet-like member 118 enters a pair of the rollers 122 or is discharged from the rollers and the thickness of the sheet-like member 118; and a calculation means 129 for calculating the thickness of the sheet-like member 118 from detection results of the rotation angle speed detection means 125 and the correlation information at the timing.
