<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter capable of improving reliability and safety for an AC load supplied with power by the power converter and the power converter itself. <P>SOLUTION: The power converter has a power conversion section 2 for causing a rectifier 3 to convert AC power supplied from an AC power supply unit 1 into DC power and causing an inverter 5 to convert the DC power into AC power, and supplying the converted DC power to an AC load 9; and an inverter control section 11 for applying a PWM signal (a) to each of switching elements 7 of the inverter and controlling the supplied power for the AC load. In the power converter, a gate resistance Rg, indicating a value of a resistor inserted inbetween a signal path 13 of each of PWM signals for each of the switching elements 7 from the inverter control section 11 is adjusted, in response to the state, such as, the operation of the AC load, a leakage current and the temperature of each of the switching elements. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
