<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the load on an IPv4-IPv6 translator device and maintain redundancy of communication. <P>SOLUTION: The translator device has: a means 1 for receiving an inquiry of IPv6 address resolution for a certain FQDN from a user terminal imparted with only an IPv6 address, and inquiring a DNS server about name resolution of the IPv4 address of the FQDN and the IPv6 address; a means 2 for returning a dummy IPv6 address, having the IPv4 address embedded in a previously se dummy prefix, together with the acquired IPv6 address when the IPv6 address and the IPv4 address are acquired as a result of the name resolution; and a means 3 for converting the dummy IPv6 address into the IPv4 address, when the user terminal starts communication for the dummy IPv6 address, and relays communication between the user terminal and an opposite communication party.
