PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize correct dial data by performing check processing on the reception side as processing in the case that transmission is performed by two systems. SOLUTION: Telephone system through an IP network 100 is provided with a main unit 1 on the reception side for housing a telephone set 11 to which a first telephone number (number 300) is allocated and a second main unit 2 on the transmission side for housing a telephone set 21 to which a telephone number (number 500) is allocated, which are connected to the IP network 100. The main unit 1 has: a DTMF sound detection part for detecting DTMF sound received as deemed sound as first dial data; a DTMF data detection part for detecting dial information received as an RFC2833 packet as second dial data; and a dial data control part for comparing the first dial data and the second dial data, using them as additional dial data when the first dial data and the second dial data match and executing control so as to call the telephone number (number 300).
