The system produces a global positioning system (GPS) signal that is used by normal standard mobile end devices e.g. mobile telephone, with a GPS module for map coverage and monitoring. The system operates in an offline condition, i.e. GPS data (1) are written into an internal memory (2a) of a device (2) and transmitted to a web portal and/or a web server (4) via a General Packet Radio Service (GPRS)protocol (3) after a determined criteria. Communication costs are produced in the case of variations of the routes or road maps and/or when the route ends.
