A therapeutic agent and an inhibitor for dementia, which contains pine needle extract are provided to protect the apoptosis of nerve cell and effectively used for preventing and treating Alzheimer disease. A therapeutic agent and an inhibitor for preventing or treating Alzheimer disease comprises a pine needle extract as an active ingredient and protect apoptosis of nerve cell. A method for manufacturing the pine needle extract comprises: a step of pulverizing the pine needle; a step of extracting the pulverized pine needle with hexane; and a step of decompression-concentrating the supernatant.
