An apparatus and a method for selecting an electronic service guide in a digital broadcasting system are provided to select an ESG(Electronic Service Guide) bootstrap entry point according to a condition of desired bootstrap by using OMA(Open Mobile Alliance) DM(Device Management) to select an ESG. An ESG selection apparatus in a digital broadcasting system comprises a terminal and a server. After information about a bootstrap entry point is received, the terminal selects an ESG bootstrap entry point according to a condition of a desired bootstrap. The server sets up communication with the terminal. The server transmits the ESG bootstrap entry point information to the terminal. The server comprises a service application unit(4010) and a service management unit(4030).
