<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk array system capable of shortening a time for copying a block to a hot spare when a physical disk fails and decreasing a possibility of being brought into a redundant destruction state. <P>SOLUTION: A first physical disk group 91 comprises a first logical disk. A logical disk building means 94 builds a second logical disk by using the unused region of a second physical disk group 92 when normal operation is performed. A copy control means 95 copies a set of blocks stored in the first logical disk to the second logical disk when the normal operation is performed, and when any physical disk in the first physical disk group 91 fails, copies a block copied to the second logical disk from the faulty physical disk to a hot spare 93. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
