<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulin resistance marker, a method for evaluating insulin resistance, a method for screening a substance to improve insulin resistance, and a pharmaceutical composition for improving insulin resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The insulin resistance marker includes a polypeptide composed of at least 15 amino acids having a continuous specified amino acid sequence (proepithelin protein).
