PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microcapsule which contains a melamine-formaldehyde resin or a urea-formaldehyde resin as a wall membrane forming material, and reduces an odor caused by excess formaldehyde which does not contribute to wall membrane formation or minimizes a foreign odor attributed to a material to be used for the microcapsule or its preparation or moderate the degree of coloring. SOLUTION: This microcapsule contains a melamine-formaldehyde resin or a urea-formaldehyde resin as a wall membrane forming material.
