PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blank separator which performs an accurate operation even when the size of the blank is changed. SOLUTION: This separator is a blank separator A with which a clearance is generated between blanks w by magnetizing the blanks w constituting a stack W. The blank separator A is provided with a blank separating part 1 for magnetizing the blanks w by coming into contact with the side face of the stack W, a horizontally moving means 2 which is connected to the blank separating part 1 and with which the position in the horizontal direction is adjusted by moving the blank separating part 1, a contact detecting means 4 for detecting that the blank separating part 1 and the side face of the stack W come into contact with each other, an elevating/lowering means 3 for adjusting the position in the vertical direction of the blank separating part 1 and a destack level detecting means 5 for detecting the position of the highest blank w.
