PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a magnetic disk glass substrate capable of enhancing the yield of a magnetic disk by more reliably preventing adhesion of dust and foreign matters to the glass substrate. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the magnetic disk glass substrate, as its typical configuration, one or more magnetic disk glass substrates 100 are stored in a case 200, the case is stored in a wrapping bag 210, the inside of the wrapping bag is decompressed at≤0.1 MPa/sec decompression speed to be deaerated and an opening 218 of the wrapping bag is hermetically sealed with the wrapping bag degassed.
