PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display device, which can uniformly make a glass substrate small in thickness by chemical polishing and curving a display surface. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the liquid crystal display device in which a liquid crystal is held between a first glass substrate 21 and a second glass substrate 20 comprises: an enclosing step of providing an enclosing hole for enclosing the liquid crystal on at least one side of the liquid crystal panel and enclosing the liquid crystal from the enclosing hole; a sealing step of sealing the enclosing hole with a sealing agent; a step of performing chamfering 22 of working the side on the side where the enclosing hole is formed on the first glass substrate 21 and the second glass substrate 20 in such a shape that the thickness increases from the ends of the first glass substrate 21 and the second glass substrate 20 to the center part; and a step of etching the first glass substrate 21 and the second glass substrate 20 by chemical polishing.
