PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device aiming at reducing power consumption. SOLUTION: The display device includes: a memory part which stores image data written in a pixel electrode, every pixel being provided with the pixel electrode and a counter electrode while interposing liquid crystal between them; and a switch part which applies a first image voltage to the counter electrode and, in accordance with the image data stored in the memory part, selects the first image voltage or a second image voltage developed by inverting the first image voltage and applies the selected image voltage, wherein a liquid crystal inversion alternate current cycle for driving image voltage so as to replace the magnitude of the first image voltage and the magnitude of the second image voltage with a prescribed cycle is set to be longer than the image data rewrite cycle to the pixel electrode.
