A wireless telecommunications system of audio visual data and a method thereof for controlling data size according to the state change of a radio channel are provided to prevent the deterioration of channel quality efficiently without influence of the audio visual data. A transmitter(202) includes an MAC(Media Access Control) layer and a physical layer and transmits audio visual data to a wireless channel. The size of audio-visual data is changed one among the MAC layer and application layer according to the state change of the radio channel. A receiver(204) includes the MAC layer and physical layer and receives audio-visual data to the radio channel. One restores the size of audio-visual data among the MAC layer and application layer.
