<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium nickel manganese cobalt complex oxide for a lithium secondary battery positive electrode active material capable of giving superior battery performance, especially, superior cycle characteristics and load characteristics in the lithium secondary battery having the lithium nickel manganese cobalt complex oxide as a positive electrode active material. <P>SOLUTION: This lithium nickel manganese cobalt complex oxide for the lithium secondary battery positive electrode active material is expressed by a general formula (1) Li<SB>x</SB>Ni<SB>1-y-z</SB>Mn<SB>y</SB>Co<SB>z</SB>O<SB>2</SB>(in the formula, x denotes 0.9≤x≤1.3, y denotes 0<y<1.0, z denotes 0<z<1.0, provided that y+z<1), the average particle size is 5-40 μm, a BET specific surface area is 5-25 m<SP>2</SP>/g, and tap density is 1.70 g/ml or higher. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
