<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video telephone system in which information represented with characters of a mail address or the like can be accurately and easily reported to a partner under speaking on a video telephone or the like. <P>SOLUTION: While a communication over video telephones is being performed by exchanging image streams in a predetermined form and voices between mobile phones, in a video telephone system, one mobile phone transmits an image stream in the predetermined form, the image stream being based on image data produced by converting character data representing predetermined information.
