<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ATM apparatus capable of transmitting control information with certainty without occupying a part of user line in band of a control channel for maintenance operation. <P>SOLUTION: In an ATM apparatus carrying out in-channel control, an ATM transmitter includes: an ATM cell generator that generates an ATM cell; and a cell disposal bit setting part that sets a cell disposal bit provided in a predetermined position of a header to a disposal impossible state when a payload of the ATM cell is control information, and sets the cell disposal bit to a disposal possible state when the payload of the ATM cell is user information. An ATM receiver includes: a disposal cell determination part that determines whether or not the disposal of the cell disposal bit of the header is possible; and a policing part that passes the ATM cell without disposal when determination result of the disposal cell determination part is in the disposal impossible state, and that disposes the ATM cell when the determination result of the disposal cell determination part is the disposal possible state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
