<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To build a network which does not permit connection of a fat client, but permits connection of a thin client in a thin client network. <P>SOLUTION: The thin client network has a thin client connected to a LAN and performing communications with a thin client server via a router, and an unauthorized connection preventing device connected to the LAN. The thin client does not transmit an ARP request onto the LAN, but statically holds the combination of the IP address of the router and the MAC address thereof in the ARP table, and performs communications with the thin client server via the router by using the IP address of the router and the MAC address thereof. Upon receiving the ARP request broadcasted on the LAN, the unauthorized connection preventing device transmits on the LAN the ARP response including a predetermined MAC address different from the MAC address of a transmission source terminal so that the transmission source terminal of the corresponding ARP request is disconnected from the LAN. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
