<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for solidifying ceramic by applying alkali treatment to ceramic powder activated by mechanochemical treatment, in which the time required for a grinding stage is shortened, the consumption of energy is reduced as well, and a ceramic solidified body having excellent mechanical strength can be obtained. <P>SOLUTION: In a grinding stage, ceramic 1 having the surface composed at least of silicic acid and/or silicate is ground to obtain activated ceramic powder 2 whose surface is mechanochemically made amorphous. By the grinding, a compound comprising at least one element selected from aluminum, iron and silicic acid is mixed into the ceramic powder from the surface of the ground member. Then, in an alkali treatment stage, the activated ceramic powder is treated with an alkali aqueous solution comprising alkali metal hydroxide and/or alkaline-earth metal hydroxide, thus the surface of the activated ceramic powder is dissolved and re-precipitated, for obtaining the ceramic solidified body 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
