PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, as for an extracting method for an existing wooden pile buried in the ground, a method for extracting the wooden pile wherein the existing wooden pile can be pulled out easily and efficiently without being damaged. SOLUTION: A wooden-pile extractor 1 is composed at least of a tube body 3 loosely fitted over a buried wooden pile 2 and a holding device 4 provided on the tube body 3 for holding the wooden body in a state that the pile head is covered with the tube body. The extractor 1 is placed on the pile head part of the buried wooden pile 2, and a vertical oscillation by a motion-exciter is transmitted to the extractor. The downward oscillation is transmitted to the pile head through the bottom part (top panel) of the tube body while the upward oscillation is transmitted to the wooden body 2a through the holding device 4, so as to reduce a friction force around the buried wooden pile for pulling it out.
