PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device to form an image on a medium fed from a sheet feeder, capable of assuring a high convenience for user's handling, and capable of reducing misprinting in case the sheet feeder is of multi-purpose type capable of feeding special types of paper sheets. SOLUTION: The image forming device is equipped with the sheet feeder, and upon receiving an image formation request, performs image formation on the medium fed from the sheet feeder, in which the device can be fitted simultaneously with a sheet feeder of tray type, capable of feeding unspecific medium and another of cassette type capable of feeding unspecific medium, and the medium should be fed from either one of the sheet feeder of tray type or of cassette type. The image forming device further includes a control means for controlling so that the sheet feeder of tray type is used in priority, when the image formation request does not specify which one of the two feeders is to be selected.
