PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking controller for a vehicle, and a braking control method for the vehicle capable of suppressing the partial wear of a brake rotor and a brake pad while suppressing an increase in the power consumption of the entire braking device. SOLUTION: An ECU executes road surface determination processing to compute a rough road index of a road surface on which a vehicle travels (Step S10). The ECU determines whether or not the road surface on which the vehicle travels is changed from a rough road with a relatively large unevenness degree to a smooth road with a relatively small unevenness degree based on the rough road index computed in the Step S10 (Step S11). When the result of determination is affirmative, the ECU determines that the road surface is changed from a rough one to a smooth one, and drives a motor to allow a brake fluid to flow into a wheel cylinder (Step S13). Then, each brake pad is slidably brought into contact with the brake rotor, and the inclination of the brake rotor to each brake pad is eliminated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
