SEGMENTATION APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR AN OBJECT CLASSIFICATION OF 2D IMAGE

A grouping device for two-dimensional images and a method thereof are provided to remove the necessity of additional hardware resources by grouping each pixel of a two-dimensional image which is progressively inputted, in real time and simplifying the operation. A group information storage unit(11) stores information about a pixel group consisting of at plurality of neighboring pixels. A pixel determining unit(12) determines coordinates of an inputted pixel and whether the inputted pixel is an effective pixel. A group searcher(13) searches a neighboring pixel group which is placed within a set range from the effective pixel in the group information storage unit, if the inputted pixel is the effective pixel. A group information updater(14) updates the pixel group information stored in the group information storage unit depending on whether the searched neighboring pixel group exists.
