METHOD FOR IMPROVING DYNAMIC CONTRAST RATIO

A method for calculating contrast ratio by comparing average brightness of each frame is provided to control duty ratio of a backlight lamp by controlling the backlight module according to the variation of average brightness. A vide data is inputted from an LCD module(S10). An average luminance value is extracted by each frame of the image data(S20). Tube current applied at a back light lamp is controlled by the inputted tube current control value(S30). A difference value between the average brightness of the average brightness of the nth frame and n-1 frame is calculated(S40). It is confirmed whether the calculated difference is reference value(S50). The backlight module performs the PWM control according to the PWM control value by extracting PWM control value corresponding to difference(S70).
