The invention generally relates to a method for producing methacrylic alkyl esters, comprising the following steps: providing an acetone cyanhydrin by way of a method according to one of the preceding claims; contacting the acetone cyanhydrin with an inorganic acid, thereby obtaining a methacrylamide; contacting the methacrylamide with an alcohol in the presence of an inorganic acid in a reactor, thereby obtaining a methacrylic alkyl ester; continuously discharging at least part of the methacrylic alkyl ester from the reactor as the vapor stream to a distillation column; the discharge taking place by feeding a vapor-containing discharge stream to the reactor. The invention also relates to a device for producing methacrylic alkyl esters, to a method for producing polymers that are at least partially based on methacrylic alkyl esters, to the use of the methacrylic alkyl esters obtainable by the method according to the invention in chemical products, and to chemical products that are based on the methacrylic alkyl esters obtainable by the method according to the invention. |
