FIELD: physics; computer engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to data synchronisation in a distributed computer system. Time and date information allows for syntax analysis on the part of several devices and is used for resolving conflicts between property settings, and there is also possibility of determining whether a property setting has changed on a remote device since the last synchronisation between the remote device and local machine by comparing the remote presentation of property setting with the local presentation, associated with the same property setting. There is also possibility of saving memory resources through selection of property settings which should be assigned time and date information, used in resolving conflicts between synchronised values. Property settings can be selected, for example, based on available resources of the remote device or based on statistical information. ^ EFFECT: possibility of formatting, identifying and storing date and time information for devices with low data integrity without time and date fields. ^ 46 cl, 10 dwg |
