FIELD: mining. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention can be used when obtaining carbon-carbon composite materials (CCCM) with low density and high strength, particularly, workpieces based on thermal expanded graphite (TEG). The method involves electric contact heating of a porous elongated carbon workpiece, movement thereof through the reactor, supply of reaction mixture to the reactor, settlement of pyrolytic carbon and removal of the reaction products; at that, around the reactor there created is an additional gas zone, supply of reaction mixture to the reactor is cyclic till the reactor pressure is 0.05-0.4 atm in each cycle, reaction products are removed from the reactor through the additional gas zone till the reactor residual pressure is 10-2-10-3 atm in each cycle; at that, when the reaction mixture is supplied to the reactor, pressure in the additional gas zone is kept equal to the pressure in the reactor zone, and when the reaction products are removed, pressure in the additional gas zone is kept less than in the reactor zone. There is also the processing device including supply reel 1, workpiece moving means 2, current lead 3, water-cooled reactor 4, reaction mixture supply system 5 to reactor 4 and receiver 7; at that, the device also consists of protective housing 8 comprising additional gas zone 9 located between reactor external side 5 and internal side of protective housing 8 and equipped with gas input system 10 to additional gas zone 9, reaction products withdrawal system 12, loading door 13 for basic workpiece and unloading door 14 for the processed workpiece, and the reactor is provided with slot openings 4a for input of basic workpiece and output of the processed workpiece. ^ EFFECT: increasing homogeneity of saturation with pyrolytic carbon through workpiece thickness and decreasing explosion hazard. ^ 10 cl, 1 ex, 1 tbl, 1 dwg |
