<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing utensil which can allow easy and secure inspecting of the dimensions of a securing projecting part formed on the inner wall surface of a sleeve part. <P>SOLUTION: This writing utensil includes a connecting structure A in which a first projecting rib 21 extending in the extension direction of an axis L and a first securing projecting part 22 formed between the first projecting rib 21 and an opening 20c on the rear end 20b side of the sleeve part 20, are arranged on the inner wall surface 20a of the sleeve part 20. In addition, a first recessed groove 31 which is suitable for the first projecting rib 21 stretching in the extension direction of the axis L from the chip 30b of the telescopic pipe 30, and a second securing projecting part 32 which climbs over, fitting to the first securing projecting part 22, are arranged on the outer wall surface 30a of the telescopic pipe part 30. Further, the first securing projecting part 22 is arranged between the first projecting rib 21 and the opening 20c, and therefore, the length of the insertion space S between the first projecting rib 21 and the opening 20c can be prolonged.
